Building a creative career is rarely straightforward. You’ll face rejection, uncertainty, and plenty of people who don’t understand what you’re trying to do. I’ve experienced all of it—some moments brilliant, others… not so much.

I studied business and design, launched a scrappy brand far too young, and learned the industry the hard way—through manufacturing mistakes, late nights, and constant trial and error. That little brand opened doors I never expected, including a role at a global performance apparel company. Inside a large system, I learned what scale actually demands: discipline, repetition, clarity, and restraint.

Whether you’re starting a clothing line with a few hundred dollars or grinding away in a corporate job, the decisions can be exhausting.

Today I live in a remote town in Alaska, roughly the same size as the place I once couldn’t wait to leave. Distance gave me perspective. Stillness revealed patterns I had been too busy to see.
